Two founders laughing over coffee at a café window while people walk past outside carrying parcels

It started over coffee

One summer morning, two founders were sitting at a local café, watching people go by. We started noticing what they were carrying. A matcha. A coffee. A gym bag. A yoga mat. But the thing we saw most was a parcel. Most of the people passing were on their way to the post.

So we asked a simple question: what if neighbours sold directly to neighbours? No wrapping, no posting. Just walking downstairs, saying hello and handing it over.

That question sparked .

That is what stood out. People here buy and sell a lot of clothing, shoes, electronics, books and toys, all of it wrapped in bags or boxes, taped, labelled and shipped off in vans, often to the other side of the country. Meanwhile, someone upstairs might be wishing for that very jacket.

So we built it: an online platform that encourages neighbours to sell local. People already like to buy local. We think it is time to sell local too.

Selling local keeps things off vans and lorries. That means fewer emissions and cleaner air, and it brings neighbours face to face.

Relovd puts sustainability first. It is in the name: love your things again, and love the planet in the process. Fewer boxes, fewer bags, fewer vans on the roads and fewer emissions.

We’re here to challenge the big online platforms. Our competition with them is on sustainability: on loving the planet, and on re-loving it again. That is the race we want to win, and it is where Relovd comes in. You can do your part by trying to sell to your neighbours first.

Nine Elms is one of London’s freshest neighbourhoods, and practically everything here is brand new: the buildings, the community, and above all the people, many of them just starting out. New couples, newlyweds, young families, vibrant professionals, students from across the globe and a growing number of founders. We meet at the gym, at yoga and Pilates, on the tennis and padel courts, and in the cosy cafés in between. Most of us already know and greet each other.

There is a social side too. Ironically, in the age of social media, we have become less sociable as people. Relovd is bringing socialising back, starting with our neighbours. Every sale is a chance to say hello and bring people a little closer together.

We started small with one development, Embassy Boulevard, and it worked. Now we’re opening Relovd to everyone around Nine Elms Park. Next up, in early 2027: Battersea Power Station, Vista and Chelsea Bridge Wharf.

We’ve seen how far a small idea can go in this neighbourhood. In 2011 Hyperoptic launched its network in a single Battersea building. Today it reaches over a million homes. We want Relovd to be Battersea’s next success story.

And we’re thinking even bigger. By the time Relovd goes UK-wide, we aim to have introduced a fresh, sustainable way to move things between homes, and to revolutionise how we all sell what we no longer need. For the planet.

It starts here, with your neighbours.

Good to know

Get in touch

Questions, a building we have missed, or a problem with a listing. A real person reads every email.

Is it free?

Yes. Joining, listing and buying are all free. There are no fees and no postage to pay.

Who can join?

People aged 18 or over who live in one of the developments on and beside Nine Elms Park. Every request is checked before the account is switched on, unless your phone confirms you are at home when you apply. Live nearby but not on the list? Tell us.

How do I pay?

You pay the seller directly, after you have seen the item in the lobby. Relovd does not handle payment. A bank transfer is best, as it leaves a record.

What if someone doesn’t turn up?

Message them in the app first. If a sale is agreed and then doesn’t go ahead, the person who pulled out gets a strike and their mark turns red. Three strikes and they can’t make offers for a week. You can also report anyone from their profile or the chat.

Do neighbours see where I live?

No. They see your first name, your photo if you add one, and the lobby you choose for collection. Never your flat number, email or phone number.

What can I sell?

Your own belongings, in your own photos. No fakes, no e-bike batteries and no alcohol. The full list is in the house rules.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Relovd opens in your browser. Add it to your Home Screen and it works like any other app, notifications included.
